What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up?
Growing up, my go-to sport was basketball (and still is!). Being so short, I got beat up a lot, but it was ferocious competition between my brothers and I. The years up to joining Crossfit, I gave an old college try at my own bodyweight regime, but nothing compares to the Crossfit community, intensity, and coaching.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?
I was first exposed to Crossfit through a college buddy, one of the fittest, strongest guys I knew. I thought he was just insane, but I was always curious about the competitive mindset that he formed as a result of Crossfit.
What was your first workout and how did it go? How did you feel after?
This was just three months ago! It was awesome. It was a 17 minute AMRAP with snatch and cleans, paralette push-ups, and double unders. It worked all the micro-muscles I didn’t know I had and made me sore in places I’d never even felt before. That feeling was wonderful. And painful. I had to go back for more.
