What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up? Boxing – 7 years and Baseball/Basketball

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I wanted to try something new, gyms are not for me, I need to move.

What was your first workout and how did it go? How did you feel after? Annie, I felt like I was going to throw up but it was the best thing ever.

What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up? I was not an athletic kid.  My parents wanted me to concentrate on my school work and playing the piano. I was not involved in sports or fitness until in my 20’s. Since then, I have been a group exercise instructor at gyms, completed many events covering all distances and several marathons, triathlons, including an Ironman.  Prior to moving to Naples, I trained at a kettle bell studio.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? One of my kettle bell trainers started to sprinkle in some CrossFit movements in to my individual program. I had an idea of CrossFit from watching the CrossFit games on TV. I was intimidated by the intensity of CrossFit because I have participated mostly in events where I go long and slow.

What was your first workout and how did it go? How did you feel after? My very first CrossFit class was a CrossFit Naples community beach workout. My husband and I were visiting Naples and our good friend, Rolando, invited us to the workout. He had been raving about the box to us since he joined a couple of years ago. It was so much fun – the group workout in teams and the challenge of running in sand. I felt great afterward – I wasn’t destroyed but still felt the effort.  What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up? I played sports my entire life. I played lacrosse in middle school and high school and one year in college.

What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up? Track/Running, weight lifting, cheerleading (yeap I consider it a sport,) dance.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? A friend, told me about a family member doing it. I had never heard of it and decided to look into it when I moved to Naples. I couldn’t be more happy I did!

Favorite CF Movements: Rope climb/leg free, handstands/parallette handstands.

What did you do for fitness before CrossFit? Did you play any sports growing up?
I’ve always loved being physically active! Growing up I was very limited in the sports I was allowed to play since I was born with asthma, so I played softball and danced. I love snowboarding and take a trip every year to do it out west. I also taught Zumba for 2 years from 2010-2012.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I was looking for a boot camp class online and came across cross fit. It looked right up my alley so I scheduled my intro.

What was your first workout and how did it go? How did you feel after? I don’t remember exactly what we did in my 1st class, but it was very challenging and I was hooked! I felt worn out and happy that I found CrossFit.   Continue reading…
