I got into CrossFit because of the functionality of the program. The movements and intensity transfer over to real life situations- unlike traditional lifting and cardio exercises. It allows the perfect balance of strength and endurance. After many years of doing CrossFit on my own I joined CrossFit Naples. There is nothing like having numerous professional views and critiques on my training to perfect and advance my skills. CrossFit Naples is like a family, a brother and sisterhood. We push each other, critique each other, and motivate each other. CrossFit also does wonders for mental strength. It teaches you in a controlled way to push your limits and makes uncomfortable situations feel comfortable. With out the professional coaching and group motivation I would not be as competitive of an operator at work, or in my personal life competing in adventure races and triathlons. CrossFit has truly changed my life. Due to its universal scalability for athletes and non athletes of all skill levels; it truly can transform even the most non athletic person. In April I found myself having to make a tough decision between joining Crossfit Naples or staying at the gym I’ve attended for the past 14 years. This decision wasn’t easy for me because I was your typical gym rat that loved lifting weights 5 days-a-week. After meeting with Coach Mario and talking about the basics of Crossfit I decided to give it a try. I will admit I was nervous walking in the door the first day. I immediately realized that our workouts had a structure to them and that the coach’s would set each and every person up to there own fitness levels during the workout. Mario and Tara have been very supportive and encouraging. Within 2 months,  I had began to accomplish things I thought were impossible. Over the past 7 months I continued to find myself breaking more physical and mental barriers. The only way I can explain this is when you think you don’t have anymore to give , coach’s and fellow members push you through to finish a workout. As of today I’ve lost 17 pounds and 2 inches off my waistline. My body fat has dropped from 13.9 to 11.1 in the past 7 months. Words can’t explain how thankful I am to Mario and Tara for there time , guidance, and support in helping me work towards my fitness goals. Going to the gym was getting so monotonous.  I wanted to get stronger, and I needed someone to challenge me.  And that’s when I found CrossFit Naples.  Gaining strength has never been so much fun!  The workouts are extremely diversified, and classes never get easier – you continue to push yourself harder than you did the day before!  I would highly recommend Crossfit Naples to anyone looking for a change, or to simply have a good time while getting  stronger! -Jennifer W.
