Which Overhead Movement is this?
The success of the push-jerk is evident in the dynamic hip-extension that occurs when performing the push-jerk. In the press there in no hip-extension. During the push-press there is a slight closing and opening of the hip but it’s still limited by the inability to reverse underneath the bar. But during the push-jerk hip-extension is dynamically enforced to produce maximum amount of power. This is evident in why bringing 95lb overhead feels lighter during a push-jerk than a press at the same load.
