My name is Andrew Armstong. I am originally from Youngstown, Ohio where I spent 18 years of my life. I was a 3 sport athlete in high school having played football, basketball, and baseball. I earned a full football scholarship to Syracuse University where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree and played 4 seasons as a linebacker. I moved to Naples in May of 2020 upon graduating college. I am currently a Physical Education teacher while also coaching at CrossFit Naples.
The major turning point in my life was when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a 17-year-old. Type 1 Diabetes forces me to take insulin and actively monitor my blood glucose levels. There is currently no cure for the disease. I believe I was given Diabetes for a reason. That reason is to inspire kids with Type 1 to follow their dreams and never give up. I want to be a role model for those who get discouraged regarding their disease.
My passion has always been playing sports and being active. Throughout my life, I have had great coaches but also not-so-great coaches. I want to be everything that I see in a great coach for CrossFit Naples. The smile on people’s faces when they see results in their fitness journey is priceless. Being part of this community and training with like-minded individuals motivates me every day to do my best.
